Batmobile gone horribly wrong

batmobile gone horribly wrong

For all you Batman-loving car nuts out there, we’re now telling you to turn away and not even bother to look at this.

But if you can’t resist, then we won’t blame you either.

This car is not the Batmobile. No. No. No.

What it is is a 2001 Chevrolet Camaro that has been face-lifted to make it look – at the very least – like the Dark Knight’s ride. While his expectations of what a Batmobile looks like differs greatly from the entire human population, we can’t help but appreciate the effort.

That is, until, we scoured the car and found a few minor mishaps said owner has done with his re-styling. First of all, he needs to work on his spelling as evidenced by the tag line ‘King of Gothem City’ emblazoned on right rear side of the car. Second of all, we understand the whole concept of posting stickers on the rear window, provided it doesn’t impede the driver’s vision when he checks out his rear-view mirror, but this guy decided that small stickers have no place in his ‘Batmobile’ so he went with a sticker that almost covers the entire rear window.

Way to go, Bruce Wayne!

Ris Low: Guilty of credit card fraud

Guilty of credit card fraud

By Dawn Tay

RECENTLY crowned Miss Singapore World Ris Low, 19, had earlier been found guilty of credit-card fraud.

The beauty queen was convicted of five charges of misappropriation, cheating using illegally obtained credit cards, and impersonating their users' identities.

The first-time offender was sentenced in May this year to 24 months of supervised probation, said a Subordinate Courts spokesman in response to a query from my paper.

Another 60 charges were taken into consideration for the purposes of sentencing, he said.

Court documents show that Miss Low spent a total of more than $2,400 on at least four separate occasions, using at least three different credit cards in April and May last year.

She bought two gold anklets worth almost $1,000, a $698 mobile phone, and food and drinks at a swanky restaurant.

It is not known how she obtained the credit cards.

my paper understands that her previous employer, a healthcare company, made a police report about her in April last year.

It suspected that Miss Low, who worked there for five months as a patient-service assistant, had used credit cards belonging to its patients. It asked her to leave the following month.

Before leaving, she was said to have returned a part - an unspecified sum - of the total amount she had spent using the cards.

When contacted, Miss Low, now a student, said that she was "not in a position to comment".

The organiser of the Miss Singapore World pageant, ERM World, did not respond to queries as to whether it was aware of her criminal record during the pageant.

The international Miss World pageant will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, in December.

It is unclear whether Miss Low will be allowed to leave the country to take part in it.

MILF leader captured

COTABATO (Philippines) - THE Philippine military said on Wednesday it had arrested a top Muslim rebel who was wanted for deadly attacks, but his separatist group insisted the authorities had got the wrong man.

The Moro Islamic Liberation Front's (MILF) Camarudin Hadji Ali, also known as Commander Mudi, was picked up on Tuesday as he visited his wife in a southern Philippine city, regional army spokesman Colonel Jonathan Ponce said.

'Ali is a leader of the MILF's 105th Base Command under Ameril Umbrakato, who are both wanted for a series of deadly attacks last year in Mindanao,' Col Ponce said.

Umbrakato and another MILF field commander broke a five-year-old ceasefire last year and launched deadly raids across the southern Philippine island of Mindanao, where the group has been waging a decades-long separatist rebellion.

The attacks displaced up to 750,000 people and killed over 300. They followed the Supreme Court's rejection of a proposed deal between the government and the MILF that would have granted the rebels control over large swathes of land.

Ali had a bounty of one million pesos (S$29,710) on his head, Col Ponce said.

However MILF spokesman Eid Kabalu denied that any senior MILF field operative had been arrested.

'The military arrested the wrong person,' he told AFP, adding that Muslim civilians had informed the group that a man with a similar name had been arrested.

Ali's claimed arrest came a week after the government and the MILF agreed to create a panel of international brokers to help facilitate peace talks, which are expected to resume soon.

It was not clear how the reported arrest could affect the peace talks. -- AFP

What should i do to marry a rich guy?

A young and pretty lady posted this on a popular forum:

Title: What should I do to marry a rich guy?

I’m going to be honest of what I’m going to say here. I’m 25 this year. I’m very pretty, have style and good taste. I wish to marry a guy with $500k annual salary or above. You might say that I’m greedy, but an annual salary of $1M is considered only as middle class in New York . My requirement is not high. Is there anyone in this forum who has an income of $500k annual salary? Are you all married? I wanted to ask: what should I do to marry rich persons like you? Among those I’ve dated, the richest is $250k annual income, and it seems that this is my upper limit. If someone is going to move into high cost residential area on the west of New York City Garden , $250k annual income is not enough.

I’m here humbly to ask a few questions:
1) Where do most rich bachelors hang out? (Please list down the names and addresses of bars, restaurant, gym)
2) Which age group should I target?
3)Why most wives of the riches is only average-looking? I’ve met a few girls who doesn’t have looks and are not interesting, but they are able to marry rich guys
4) How do you decide who can be your wife, and who can only be your girlfriend? (my target now is to get married)

Ms. PrettyHere’s a reply from a Wall Street Financial guy:

Dear Ms. Pretty,
I have read your post with great interest. Guess there are lots of girls out there who have similar questions like yours. Please allow me to analyze your situation as a professional investor. My annual income is more than $500k, which meets your requirement, so I hope everyone believes that I’m not wasting time here.

From the standpoint of a business person, it is a bad decision to marry you. The answer is very simple, so let me explain. Put the details aside, what you’re trying to do is an exchange of beauty and money: Person A provides beauty, and Person B pays for it, fair and square. However, there’s a deadly problem here, your beauty will fade, but my money will not be gone without any good reason. The fact is, my income might increase from year to year, but you can’t be prettier year after year. Hence from the viewpoint of economics, I am an appreciation asset, and you are a depreciation asset. It’s not just normal depreciation, but exponential depreciation. If that is your only asset, your value will be much worried 10 years later.

By the terms we use in Wall Street, every trading has a position, dating with you is also a trading position. If the trade value dropped we will sell it and it is not a good idea to keep it for long term same goes with the marriage that you wanted. It might be cruel to say this, but in order to make a wiser decision any assets with great depreciation value will be sold or leased. Anyone with over $500k annual income is not a fool; we would only date you, but will not marry you. I would advice that you forget looking for any clues to marry a rich guy. And by the way, you could make yourself to become a rich person with $500k annual income. This has better chance than finding a rich fool.

Hope this reply helps. If you are interested in leasing services, do contact me.

2008 McLaren Mercedes SLR crashes a day after it was bought

2008 mclaren mercedes slr crashes a day after it was bought

No matter how expensive your car may be, it’s safety and well-being is still not exempt from people’s stupid decisions.

Take this guy from Poland for instance. A day after his father bought a 2008 Mercedes McLaren SLR, the 23-year old crashed the day-old vehicle into three other cars. While details surrounding as to how it happened are a mystery, the guy reportedly saw a Ferrari 599 GTB out on the road and decided to challenge the 599 to a good old fashion street race. Well, judging from the photos, we all know how that went.

It’s bad enough that the car costs around $700,000, but to make things worse, the schmuck was driving with a young child in the passenger seat. The poor kid ended up getting hurt from the vehicular mishap while the driver of the SLR went AWOL for almost 17 hours before showing up again.

We feel terrible for the SLR but in this particular case, our hearts go out to the young kid who got hurt because somebody was being an irresponsible adult.

Woman's outrageous dressing at Somerset restaurant creates stir

STOMPer Cristiano saw this woman at the Sakura restaurant in Somerset and felt that her dressing was too outrageous and inappropriate.

He said:

"I was having a buffet lunch with two of my friends at Somerset's Sakura on September 15, at around 12pm.

"This woman totally spoilt my appetite. Other than being out of shape, she still had the cheek to dress so skimpily, in public.

"It was really an eyesore and I think she had gone overboard.

"Yes, she might have her pride and she's not afraid to dress like this in public, eating buffet as I watched her tummy gets bigger and bigger the more she ate.

"Okay jokes aside, just wish that she could at least spare a thought for the other people eating, it really did turn me off and I lost my appetite and wasted my $27 just because of you showed off your tummy right in front of me.

"I wouldn't mind if she had a nice figure, but this.

"I'm totally lost for words. Please just put on more clothing and stop embarrassing yourself."

Renault admit Singapore f1 Race was fixed

PARIS (AFP) - - Team chief Flavio Briatore on Wednesday sensationally quit the Renault Formula One team, which has been hit by serious allegations of cheating at last year's Grand Prix in Singapore, the team announced in a statement.

Renault said in a short statement that Briatore and Pat Symonds, the director of engineering, had both left the team ahead of a meeting Monday with the sport's world ruling body the FIA to explain recent allegations of race-fixing.

The statement said: "The team announces that its team chief, Flavio Briatore, and its director of engineering Pat Symonds have quit the team."

Renault have been summoned to appear before the FIA's International Motor Sport Council in Paris on September 21 to answer claims by Nelson Piquet junior that he was asked by Renault to crash deliberately during the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix, so giving a race-winning advantage to his team-mate Spaniard Fernando Alonso.

If Renault are found guilty of race-fixing, they could be expelled from the sport for the role they played in an affair which has been dubbed 'crashgate'.

The team had denied all of the claims made against them by Piquet junior, who was dismissed by the team in July after being told he had failed to perform to expectations.

But on Wednesday Renault appeared to partly admit some role in the controversy by adding in the statement they "would not contest the FIA's recent allegations concerning the Singapore Grand Prix".

The statement added: "Before participating at the FIA's International Motor Sport Council hearing in Paris on September 21, the team will make no further commment."

A report by The Times on Tuesday, citing unnamed sources, claimed the FIA had offered Renault second-in-command immunity from punishment in exchange for full disclosure about crashgate.

The report said that Symonds was told that if he came clean over how and why Nelson Piquet junior drove his car into the barriers in Singapore in 2008, he would escape sanctions.

Former driver Piquet and his father, three-time world champion Nelson Piquet senior, claimed that Renault conspired to fix the outcome of last year's race.

At the Grand Prix on September 28, 2008 Alonso began the race in 15th position. But after making a very early pit stop to refuel, Nelsinho Piquet Jr. crashed into a wall, prompting the safety car out.

As Alonso's rivals then gradually disappeared into the pits to refuel, the Spaniard catapulted himself up into the virtual lead to go on and win his first race in a year.

In response to the allegations Renault accused Piquet of blackmail and announced they were launching criminal proceedings against him and his father.

Briatore denied all the accusations against him -- notably conspiring with team management and Piquet to cause a deliberate accident -- saying they were "outrageous lies".

Stewards investigating the claims interviewed Symonds at the Belgian Grand Prix late last month.
